How to and What to Clean With Vinegar?
Vinegar is the most commonly used product when it comes to making certain types of food preparation. It is also used as a beauty product to give shine to hair when used in small quantities with water. However, how many of us know about its amazing cleansing properties.
Whenever vinegar is used as a cleaning agent it generally has to be diluted with water. Basically, vinegar is alcohol where due to secondary fermentation the acetone is converted into acetic acid. There are two types of vinegar, raw and pasteurized. The raw one is quite expensive. However, for personal use it is given preference due to its ingredients and qualities. Most types of wines are vinegars.
Pasteurized vinegar is the cheaper of the two. This is also the distilled version and is generally white.
Vinegar is a good cleaning product due to its acidic nature. It also neutralizes any salt content and hence becomes more effective as a cleaning agent. The costing of vinegar also makes it a preferred cleaning agent.
Cleaning with vinegar:
- Vinegar mixed with water is a great cleaning agent for windows; it has no grains hence it causes no damage to the smoothness of glass.
- It is acidic in nature and is good to disinfect kitchen tops.
- Its antibacterial properties due to its acidic nature work very well for sanitizing floors in bathrooms nd cleaning toilets too.
- It can disinfect any kind of kitchen equipment. Wipe the equipment such as knifes and boards with vinegar and dry it. All the germs will die.
- Vinegar also helps in cleaning out grease, even if the grease is on clothes.
- It kills odors and evaporates subsequently.
- Clean your scalp with vinegar and there will be no trace of dandruff. If used in diluted form with water to rinse hair, it will give shine to hair.
- Garbage cans can be deodorized with the help of vinegar cubes.
- Dishwasher if cleaned with vinegar neutralizes the soap in it (soap is alkaline and vinegar is acidic). his prevents residual formation.
- Tough stains can be removed from clothes by direct application of vinegar.
- When vinegar is added in the water used to rinse clothes after washing it adds a sparkle to the clothes and brightens the colors too.
- Vinegar can help remove rust from metal on direct application with the help of a cloth.
- It can help shine metal especially stainless steel when polished with a cloth.
